The Challenging Condition of Housing in Evansville

07-11-2017

Did you know there is no shortage of people in our community who are in need of help with maintaining their homes?

  • Over 50% of all homes in Evansville were built before 1951, and half of those were built before 1939.
  • Over 15% of Vanderburgh County residents live below the poverty line.
  • Of households, nearly 17,000 are elderly and over 6,000 are single-parent.

Homeowners in Evansville's center city neighborhoods often need help with routine repairs and maintenance to keep their homes in good condition, but simply cannot perform the work themselves or afford to hire acontractor to complete the work. A helping hand from a loving neighbor is needed!

We currently have over 120 home repair projects posted on our website waiting for volunteers. Do you know how to fix a broken window? Would you like to bless an elderly homeowner by helping clean up their yard? Do you have time to clean a neighbor's gutters?

These are just a few ways our volunteers can demonstrate Jesus' love in a tangible way while transforming our community as a whole - join us today! For more information, please email us or call 812-250-6888.
