Every whole-house rehab project is different. And the house at 609 East Riverside Drive is no exception! Habitat for Humanity built this house in 2004, but in a rare occurrence ownership was returned to them in 2017. Unfortunately, it was badly vandalized and no longer safe for a family in that condition. Habitat generously gifted the home to Community One for restoration, and we embarked on a year-long renovation journey! Volunteers and partners completely gutted and fully restored it. A once dilapidated house is now safe, energy-efficient, and affordable for a new neighbor to purchase. We celebrated this incredible achievement with a ribbon cutting ceremony on November 20, 2020.
